Initially, I had envisaged myself adding three or four videos to my portfolio that I would have made in a gap year. These videos include:
-'Everybody Knows' - McFly - Unofficial Music Video
-'The Heart Never Lies' - McFly - Unofficial Music Video
-'Good For You' - We Are The Ocean - Unofficial Music Video
-A Film Noir Comedic Short
-Crohn's documentary
Only until October 2015 was this my plan. However, after looking into university courses, researching different production studios' job information/requirements, and talking to careers advisors, I made the decision to apply for a university course instead.
London is the media capital of Britain and arguably Europe. Living so close to the city and having such a great selection of successful universities influenced my decision, as well as committing to further research about assessment details for courses; I learnt that there is the possibility for producing the list of films I want to make in independent study time at university.
Furthermore, the facilities of all universities I have applied for boast state-of-the-art filming equipment and editing facilities. This is therefore a really great opportunity to develop my skills using professional equipment and technologies, which I believe is the one element of my study that I have not had experience in yet.
I am definitely looking forward to expanding my portfolio, and observing the improvement of quality of content I make throughout my university career. Applying theory to films I have made is something I have recently begun to enjoy and I look forward to learning more critical and theoretical frameworks.
I hope this digital portfolio of my works illustrates the style and talent I have and hope to develop in the future.
